The Warmth of a Whirlpool and Steam Shower
HUB Design/Build recently completed a new addition, which included
a master bedroom suite, new master bathroom, kitchen and family
room. |
|
The picture to the right shows us the bath/whirlpool. This whirlpool
has six jets and an in-line heater to keep the water at just
the right temperature. All of the tub's hardware; faucets, tub
spout, valves, and hand shower, are by Dornbracht. The tile
surround, rear wall back splash, shower enclosure and floor,
are all tiled with 12" limestone tiles that contributes to an
overall feeling of earthy warmth. |

The next picture is of the shower enclosure. But this is not
an ordinary shower stall. The enclosure doubles as a steam room.
Within the shower there are 2 Grohe body sprays, a Dornbracht
ceiling mounted rainhead, and a steam head for the SteaMist
steam generator. The same tile used for the whirlpool surround
and the floor is used on the interior walls of the shower. And
notice the intricate tile detail work at the top of the shower
enclosure, on the inside of the shower and around the whirlpool.
These accent tiles are hematite. There is also a bench within
the enclosure so one may sit down to enjoy the relaxing effects
of a long steam bath. |

The picture at right shows an overview of the vanity area. The
vanity has double porcelain sinks with a cut limestone counter
top. The medicine cabinets, light bars and mirror are all by
Robern. Satin nickel towel bars, robe hooks and open towel ring
are by Ginger. One final touch was added to this incredible
bathroom, and that was a skylight. This helps maintain the feeling
of spaciousness and increases the warm feeling that this room
imparts to its owners and to any visitors that come to the owner's
house. |
