HUB Design/Build is always ready for a challenge. In the case of this lovely master bathroom located on the second floor, our clients wanted to lower the floor of the shower. Counting the shower curb, the existing shower floor was a full 12” step up—making the shower cramped for our tall client. However, the stairway leading to the first floor was located directly beneath the shower, and the clients requested that we not lower the stairway ceiling in order to accommodate the shower.

With some of HUB Design/Build’s creative carpentry, we were able to lower the shower floor to only 3” above the bathroom floor, without affecting the stairway ceiling. In addition, we enlarged the floor space of the shower, adding a shower seat and a frameless glass enclosure. All of these changes resulted in a shower that not only is larger, but feels more spacious as well.
