We were asked to work on an area that had approximately 1,600
square feet and was being used mostly for storage. The new areas,
once finished, would include a project area for children, a
weight training area for the adults, an 1,100 square foot family
area, a combination utility/workshop area, a smaller walk-in
storage closet and a large open storage area. A finished wine
cellar would remain in place. |
 |
All
of the walls were built out with 2 X 4 construction, access for plumbing
was accommodated as needed, the installed sprinkler system was incorporated
into the design, 10 new HVAC feeds and returns were installed, and
the steel columns were encased in decorative columns.
The picture to the right illustrates how nicely the project
area came out. One can see the kids have already used the area
for art projects. It can also be seen how well the lighting
was done, the upscale look imparted by the encased columns,
and the window finish detail.

This final picture shows an overall view of the finished family
area. The walls are faux finished, and the lighting, carpeting,
and encased columns contribute to a feeling of spaciousness. |
