Kitchen

Re-routing the plumbing and HVAC contained in the walls that were removed comprised some of the most difficult challenges we faced in reconfiguring this space.

With three teenagers, their cousins and friends, this kitchen needed to include seating for seven. Although we pushed the limits of walkways around the island, seating on three sides of the island allows for easier conversation than does the traditional one-sided island seating.

Pictured in the foreground is the warming drawer installed in the island. In the background is the desk with a lap top and printer.

The far wall of the new kitchen is the former location of the washer and dryer and powder room door.

In the powder room the
location of the door and
sink have been reversed
to allow for expansion of
the original kitchen.
